A blog of happy things |
Hi there! Hope you’re having a good day or night. If not, there’s always tomorrow! Well, as far as we know, anyway. That’s not where I meant to go with this. Tuesday, May 29th, 2012:
Most of my day was spent hiking with one of my besties.
We were sposed to go on this nice little flowery 1 or 2-mile hike, but due to some ridiculousness, we couldn’t find the place, so we ended up going to another place and doing a trail over 5 miles long and for “experienced hikers only.”
It was pretty ridiculous, and probably ill-advised, as “experienced hiking” seems a lot like beginning rock-climbing to me.
But I didn’t pass out (legitimately was afraid I might at one point though).
And we made it up and down.
And everything was really nice and pretty and stuff.
And then we finally made it out and… were not where we started because the trail was not a loop.
But luckily I had a sweat-soaked map that she had grabbed me, so we eventually made it back to the car! (After, probably, another two or three miles.)
I don’t know if I’ve ever sweat so much.
And I definitely don’t feel like I’ve worked so hard in recent workout history or ever.
And water never was so needed! Thank goodness for the little tap thing.
And we went to Dunkin for much-needed cold drinks :)
And then I came home eventually and took a shower and ate dinner and laid… lay… idk… around the rest of the night :)
And as always, I love my fam and pets <3

:D

Less American is the German deck shirt I got (which is more like a jacket if you ask me). it’s awesome, and was only $12.99. I have no reason to believe that this was not worn by an authentic German. (The fact that it’s German was neither a reason for me to buy or not buy it, btw, I just liked it.) I’m excited for it to get chilly enough for me to wear it. It’ll be a perfect fall jacket!!
The Army Barracks store on Mass Ave is my new fave place to shop!! This sweet shirt was $3.99, and they sold it to me for $2.
It’s really cool. It has a patch that says U.S. Capitol Power Plant on it. It’s funny, I used to like used clothes when I was a kid, then there was a time when I was seriously sketched out by them, and while sometimes I still am (that floor pile at the Garment District? No thanks), I think this is really cool. Like, some guy wore this (apparently named C. Raley) and worked on electricity at the Capitol? That’s awesome.
According to Wikipedia, the Capitol Power Plant hasn’t provided electricity to the Capitol since 1952, which would imply that this shirt is from before that. I’m not super knowledgeable about old-school work shirts, but I wouldn’t have guessed it to be more recent than that anyway. They do sell commercially made (not authentic) stuff there too, but I think I’m safe to assume this is real and old due to many things, like the smell, and the name, and the fact that there’s probably not a high commercial demand for U.S. Power Plant Electric Division shirts. Sorry, I’m really excited about this. I just feel so American!!
me, bestie, honorable bestie.

I love working in Boston!! I’m happily floating in a sea of dropped r’s.
shooting the other day :)
the most depressing part of the day is watching as the sky gradually gets darker and knowing that you have done absolutely...
writing about your feelings and then putting ‘idk’ at the end so you don’t sound like a faggot
